"Energie was released by the German band Münchener Freiheit in 1994. There are 13 tracks. The musicianship is tight, the songwriting is good, and the sound quality is polished. The material is in a pop musical direction. Stefan Zauner is one of my favorite vocalists; his singing is smooth and gentle. In comparison to the prevalent keyboard work of Zauner and Alex Grünwald, Aron Strobel's guitar playing takes more of a secondary position. One of the aspects of Münchener Freiheit that I am most impressed with is their rich harmony vocals. There are two versions of the composition "Du Bist Energie Für Mich." While one version is longer--just over six minutes--and has a beginning consisting of lush, majestic keyboard playing, the other version is shorter, almost four minutes, and more streamlined. Even though I find all of the songs to be worthy, the ones I like the most are "Komm," "Du Änderst Mich Total," and "Alles Kommt Zu Dem, Der Warten Kann." The well-written, engaging "Komm" sports a catchy refrain. The pretty "Du Änderst Mich Total" features airy vocal harmonies, while the nicely crafted, futuristic-sounding, and vibrant "Alles Kommt Zu Dem, Der Warten Kann" exhibits a sleek, magnetic, unforgettable chorus. The CD booklet includes the song lyrics (there are no English translations), an individual color photo of each member of the group, illustrations of other albums, and the itinerary for the 1994 Energie tour. The disc is just over 52 minutes. I recommend this piece of work."
