Lost Giorgio Moroder production back in print

"Another side project of Giorgio Moroder while he was having huge success producing Donna Summer, the Munich Machine catalog has not found its way to CD until now. And the sound quality is superb. This more obscure, less mainstream disco album is very reminiscent of Moroder's mostly instrumental disco tracks. Get on the Funk Train has very few vocals (just a female chorus singing the title now and then). The medley (which used to be side 2 of the CD) is a medley of Donna Summer songs along with a Roberta Kelly track (Troublemaker) and a Moroder solo track (I Wanna Funk Tonite).
Gold Legion is reissuing some great disco classics. The only downside here is, this CD only runs 32 minutes, leaving plenty of room to have included "Whiter Shade of Pale", the other Munich Machine album! That would have been a dream come true. Hopefully, Gold Legion will get around to releasing that one as well."

"I love Giorgio Moroder but have never heard this album until now. It's well worth it as a lover of vintage disco. Munich Machine was credited as helping on Donna Summer's albums "A Trilogy Of Love" and "Four Seasons Of Love", Roberta Kelly's "Troublemaker" and Giorgio Moroder's solo album "Knights In White Satin". This was Munich Machine's first solo album. It contains the hit singles from each of the albums that they worked on, as sort of a Greatest Hits. Only the songs have been reworked (by Giorgio and Pete) with breathy female vocals and a Battlestar Galactica (1970s version) type synthesizer which accompanies them.
The sound quality of this new CD is AMAZING! This sounds like it could have been produced today. Every sound is crystal clear and the bass beats really thump! All the tracks are properly normalized and will really fill your speakers. This CD is so worth it. I really hope that they continue this trend and re-release "A Whiter Shade Of Pale". That is one of the best Giorgio penned disco CDs EVER!"

"Synths & electronic disco has always played an important role in the Giorgio Moroder franchise, and this is a great example of his very early works, right soon after his Knights In White Satin album. Get On The Funk Train begins with an intro of "destination, funk" and further coaxes you with examples of various disco beats & jives which leads into the main dance song. GOTFT is really mainly instrumental with "get on the funk train" random chorus, but the instrumentals are as fine as Donna Summer's "Je Taime" or even her earlier works.
The flipside of the original disco album was what I call The Munich Machine Medley that gets going with an electronic intro of Love To Love You, Baby vocal, then proceeds into chorus. Following this song are many familiar disco songs built on the Giorgio Moroder "Munich Machine" foundation like, "Troublemaker," "Try Me, I Know We Can Make It," "Spring Affair," & "I Wanna Funk With You, Tonite."
This album was a smash hit when it was first released. I know, because I DJ'd it in the original disco club setting, and the dance floor was jam packed. Those were the days of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." Sold seperately."
