Great introduction to Milhaud

"If you want to get familiar with the music of Darius Milhaud, this is the place to start. This well-recorded set offers three of his most popular works ("La creation du monde", "Le boeuf sur le toit", and "Le Carnaval d'Aix") along side of the lesser-known Piano Concerti abd the Harp Concerto. Listen for jazz influences in "La Creation" and interesting compositional tricks in all of the pieces in this collection. This set was my intro to Milhaud. Now I'm trying to collect most of his works! The soloists are very good and the conductors (especially Nagano) bring this severely neglected music to life."
