"As a student violist I interested in an actual recording of the Telemann Viola concerto that nearly every violist plays at one point or another. When I looked at the price I figured I couldn't go wrong no matter what else was on the CD. What I ended up with was a generally very good collection of Solo music for the Viola. Most of the music emphasises tone rather than vituosity but all in all the tracks are all very good. The Telemann is a playful Baroque piece and easy listnening where sone of the later tracks bring out twentieth century dissonce. Some parts admittedly take strong ears yetin general the CD is very well done ( I wish I could get the same tone out of my instrument) and if you play Viola or just like string orchestra, for the price, you can't go wrong."

"The Telemann is nicely done, although I wish the accompaniment (conducted by Klein) had something more special to add. Ditto for the Hindemith Trauermusik; I also didn't find the performance of that piece to put forth the incredible emotion in that it has. The other pieces are worth a listen.Moog does a fine job, with a big tone. But I'm not falling out of my chair, either.The recording is also fine.Recommended for the repertoire with good performances."
