"Any other contender for "Most Beautiful Album" to come out of Australia? Oz Wunderkid David Bridie teams up with Helen, Hope and the gang for one of the great moments of acoustic music you'll find. David Bridie's voice packs more soul, sensitivity and sincerity than a stage full of other Australian singers. Unlike so many albums with "filler" instrumentals, this record's instrumental excursions offer an utterly unique and delightful hybrid of jazz and chamber orchestra. It is a mark of the man that Mr. Bridie has forgone his reluctance to trade in his music for use in commercial advertising, and recently allowed the album's joyous "Romp" to be used on Aussie television to raise funds for an all-star concert promoting awareness and support for the long - suffering people of West Papua. You've got to love the man and his music. The heart, the soul and a magician's touch are all here on the first album of My Friend the Chocolate Cake."
