"This will easily fit into my favorites and will be played much! Lebrun is not a classical well-known, but should be for these fine concertos alone. He himself an oboist, he exudes in these compositions the full nature of the instrument, letting it sing with its bouncy, rollicking sound.King is exquisite in her performance. The pieces sound certainly on the difficult end of the oboe spectrum, with sweeping scales and leaps of tenths. This all backed by the fine sounds of the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra well led by Swerling. For baroque and romanctic lovers of fine concertos, this would be a welcome surprise addition to ones collection."
