"The '60s gave us classic work by both pop stylists (Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, Dusty Springfield) and jazz legends (Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee), but two voices reigned supreme - Aretha Franklin and Nancy Wilson. Both blended jazz, blues, soul and pop to thrilling effect. For Franklin, buy the "Jazz to Soul" box set, and for Wilson, this compilation. Both artists veered off into middle-of-the-road R&B in later years, but here, merely in their 20s, they shook the world with their originality. Enjoy."

"NANCY'S MUSIC TRANSCENDS GENERATIONS; I AM FROM THAT HORRIBLE, VAPID LOT CALLED GENERATION X, BUT NANCY IS MY FAVORITE SINGER. HER MUSIC SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE; HER INTERPRETATIONS ARE UNIQUE AND POLISHED -- YET EMOTIONAL. NANCY, YOU ARE A CLASS ACT -- NO ONE QUITE REACHES YOUR LEVEL. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT COMPILATION OF HER WORK. I OWN EVERYTHING SHE HAS IN PRINT, BUT I BOUGHT THIS ONE IN ORDER TO GET A FEW MORE SONGS THAT I DIDN'T OWN BEFORE. IT WOULD BE SO GREAT IF CAPITAL RELEASED SOME OF HER OTHER 60 ALBUMS. ALSO, WITH NEWS OF NANCY RETIRING, WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT IF SHE DID ONE MORE CLASSICS ALBUM -- SORT OF LIKE "LOVE NANCY," BUT WITH A MORE JAZZY EDGE? IN ANY EVENT, BUY THIS ALBUM AND LEARN FROM THE GREATEST SONG STYLIST EVER!!!!!!!"

"I'd give it six stars if I could. Nancy Wilson may well represent the last of the breed. Billy, Sarah, Ella, Dinah and Nancy have left us with the best of over six decades of magnificent vocalists, balladeers. This CD helps us remember and introduces others to the outstanding array of songs, musicians, writers and producers that Nancy has worked with since her intro to the audiophildum in the late fifties. Imagine four going on five decades of enduring quality. Try "Close Your Eyes" from the "Tender Loving Care" album with Billy May and Rodgers and Hart's "Little Girl Blue", "You Don't Know What Love Is" and "When Sunny Gets Blue" all from the incredible collection "Hello Young Lovers" where she managed to touch so many with the help of George Shearing and his orchestra. Too much to mention, but worth its weight in gold records. The liner notes add to the story of this outstanding compilation of an outstanding career. She's not only beautiful..,she can sing."
