"Nancy Wilson stayed close to Jazz stylings in the early to mid-sixties but quickly started expanding her musical horizons into contemporary soul with the wonderful chart hit "Piece Of Mind" which took this great singer into a new direction to the dismay of the older conservative jazz community which would have had Nancy singing old standards until she was standing in cobwebs but this artist was too progressive and creative to let that happen. "Easy" was a great mix of songs then in 1970 Nancy made a truly classic album with Philly Soul masters Gamble & Huff which became a instant classic that contains one of the greatest ever Beatle covers and "The Long And Winding Road" is a masterful performance that alone is worth getting this collection for...you will go down the Long And Winding Road in a way never before or since experienced...it is a stunning performance!! Sadly even being a true masterpiece "Now I'm A Woman" which is brilliantly produced by Gamble & Huff has yet to see the light of day on CD making one wonder what is wrong with Capitol Records...it is crazy not to have this tour-de-force collection of magnificent performances out on cd. Another brilliant 70's Nancy classic not yet on CD is represented in this collection and Marvin Gaye's "Come Get To This" is turned inside out by Nancy and her seductive performance is priceless and Marvin must have been thrilled with it! Nancy is hypnotic and does a really great version of Paul Mc Cartney's "My Love" and this is a version that would be hard to match! Remembering Nancy since my high school days when "You Don't Know How Glad I Am" was a hit and having experienced this great legend in concert numerous times over the years, Nancy just gets better with age like fine wine!! This is a tremendous collection of Nancy's for those who like her more contempory work and will have to do until Capitol employs someone who realizes what a musical treasure they have by one of the true legends in music...from 1968 through 1979 Nancy Wilson released some of the most extraordinary vocal albums in music history and they still remain in the vaults at the Capitol Towers!!! Come on guys, get with it...this is Nancy Wilson at her absolute peak!!!"
