"You will not believe how cool this disc is!First of all, del Monaco has a gorgeous contralto voice that's a treat to listen to, in and of itself.Second, the musicianship is absolutely first rate: beautifully crafted singing, beautifully crafted guitar playing, a great interaction between the artists---sensitive and mutually respectful.Third, you've never heard an "O Sole Mio" like this before: extremely subtle, very beautiful. Believe me, you will cringe every time you hear Pavarotti do it (assuming you don't already).Fourth, there are a bunch of other good songs on the album, featuring the voice, the guitar and both.(Can you tell I really like this one? What a shame there are no samples on the site.... take my word for it, you will be charmed!)"

"Oh, this cd is to die for. It's rather difficult to get hold of... you'll think you've died and gone to heaven when you hear that voice. I saw Del Monaco in Lille with the Cappella di Turchini and was bowled over."
