Amazon.comMaybe it just seems as if the Nashville Bluegrass Band has more fun than most other bluegrass ensembles. No matter what they add to the repertoire, they always dig in with both feet. Here, they tackle everyone from Flatt and Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, and Vassar Clements to Gillian Welch, Kate Campbell, and Bob Dylan. As usual, Stuart Duncan's blues-drenched fiddle takes center stage along with the quintet's soulful vocal harmonies. While they might be progressive in terms of song selection, a traditionalist spirit and an endearing looseness shine through as do sheer joy and enthusiasm. --Marc Greilsamer
