Mighty fine mandolin music

This is an excellent 4CD set totalying 100 songs. When I bought this set,I wasn't really sure what I was getting. I assumed it was some of the better known Mandolin players from Nashville playing their best known pieces.
When I opened it up,I was none the wiser.All there was is the list of each of the 25 pieces on each of the 4 Discs.
Even after playing the 4 Discs and enjoying them immensely,I was still in the dark as to who the players were.
I had never heard of a group by the name "Nashville Mandolins"so I did a search on the net and it seems that it really is the name of a group.During the search I also came across another group called
"The Nashville Ensemble"and found information on the people who make up that group.However;as far as I am able to determine,they are two totally different groups.
The 4 Discs in the set contain a wide variety of familar songs ;and played on the mandolin,and without any lyrics. Many of the songs,though very familiar to me,I had never heard them as a mandolin version.
Every song is excellent and highly enjoyable for close listening or simply as background music.
The only shortcoming with the set is that it would have been better if there was some information about the group and its members included.In spite of that,I enjoy it very much as would anyone who likes Country,Easy Listning,Gospel,or Folk music; and particularly played on mandolins.I am sure you'll find many of your favorites included.
