Ghiwane at its best

"This was the first album Ghiwane made after the death of Boujma in 1975. Larbi Batma (who died in 1998) and Omar Sayid became the frontman of the group. Harder Moroccan music never had been. Play it loud!"
Classic!!!

"This is the album Nass el Ghiwane recorded after Boujemaa died. All the songs present here are not new though, they were all sung live and were already anthems of a whole confused generation before they were even put into tape! "Ya Sah" is simply the best song of hope, "Ah Ya Ouine" brings tears, "Elhassada" and "Lehmami" are traditional wedding songs from the Chaouia (region in Morocco), "Yamina" is a remake of the classic song already recorded in their previous album Essinia, and is sung without Boujemaa: you can already feel the impact of his disappearence from the bad. "Mezzin Mdihek" is a song about the prophet Mohamed (pbuh), very nice feel to it and nice choice of words, then comes the suicidal "Ghir Khoudouni", the soundtrack of a man who cries about his unlucky fate in life and who wants to end it. this version is very extreme compared to the ones sung with Boujemaa, you can even hear Laarbi Batma and Abderrahmane Paco weep in the background. very scary. After that, comes "Hammouda" which is the logical conclusion that we need to keep the faith in life and that Boujemaa lives!"
Outstanding instrumental for music lovers

"It is a beautiful marriage of drums, tamtams, binjo and other traditional instruments. A rare nice piece of work from late 70s!"
