"There is really nothing more I could say about this man, his voice and the music -- it's all been said before. But I will say this: to have all these songs on one CD is something that is long overdue. You get 24 gorgeous, timeless classics sung as only Nat King Cole can sing them..."There Goes My Heart"..."Stardust"..."Let There Be Love"..."More"..."The More I See You"..."Stay As Sweet As You Are"..."Autumn Leaves"... WOW!! And that's only the beginning! The majority of these classic tracks are digitally remastered, so you can hear Nat the only way he should be heard - crystal clear and pristine. Instead of me shuffling through my HUGE collection of NKC material to hear all these tunes, I can put on this one CD and let it play all the way through. These are REAL love songs, not the sorry, imitation excuses for love songs that you'll hear on the radio these days. Fans old and new alike will fall in love with this CD, Nat just does that to you. :-) Creates a perfect mood for relaxing with that special someone, or when you want to unwind after a hard day on the job, and at a great price, too. Nat does the job everytime! Highly recommended."

"What is it about this particular CD that makes it so special? The unforgettable singer with smooth and velvety voice, none other than the legendary balladeer and talented pianist, Nat King Cole. And of course the collection of twenty-four most cherished songs that never fades through the years and my very favorites, "When I Fall In Love," "The Very Thought Of You" and "Stardust" (three songs arranged by Gordon Jenkins), "Unforgettable" and "Answer Me, My Love" (Nelson Riddle arrangements), "The More I See You," "Let There Be Love," "You'll Never Know," "Love Letters," "These Foolish Things," "You're My Everything," "It's All In The Game," "You Made Me Love You" and a lot more. This compilation was taken from Mr. Cole's two hit albums recorded in the late fifties, "Love Is The Thing" (1957) and "The Very Thought Of You" (1958). And not to mention a bevy of the finest songwriters America ever produced, the likes of Hoagy Carmichael, Mitchell Parish, Johnny Mercer, Edward Heyman, Victor Young, Ray Noble, Harold Arlen, Ted Kohler, Harry Warren, Mack Gordon and Sammy Cahn, among many others who contributed their talents in creating the greatest music we could ever take pleasure in listening to.
My very favorite in this collection is Mr. Cole's signature song penned by Irving Gordon and arranged and conducted by the greatest orchestrator of all-time, Nelson Riddle.
**Unforgettable**
Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettable, though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more
Unforgettable in every way
And forever more
That's how you'll stay
That's why darling
It's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too.
For all hopeless romantics with sentimental hearts out there . . . this CD is for you to listen to on your most nostalgic moments.
Timeless and forever!

"After recently hearing one of Nat's inimitable renditions of a classic, I knew I had to add some of his music to my CD collection. I listened to samplings of several of his albums on Amazon and was thrilled to come upon "Love Songs," one of the most beautiful compilations I have ever heard. Have you ever found yourself moved to tears by the sheer magnificence of someone's singing? He is in a class by himself, regal in his bearing, with a voice so mellifluous, velvety, rich, caressing, it's heavenly. The songs on this album are timeless, eloquently declaring it's love that makes the world go 'round. It's a shame Nat King Cole was taken from us so early. And, they just don't make love songs like that anymore! Do yourself a favor, fall in love to this CD and romance will reign supreme."

"Love Songs gives us a great CD of ballads performed by the great Nat King Cole. Nat never sounded better; and this CD is chock full of wonderful hits!
"When I Fall In Love" really starts it off right as Nat sings passionately with a great arrangement for strings that still keeps Nat's vocals in the spotlight at all times. "Unforgettable," a classic Nat King Cole love song, gets the royal treatment from Nat as he croons this to perfection. Again, the arrangement for strings enhances the natural beauty of this ballad. Moreover, "Let's Fall In Love," a Harold Arlen classic, features Nat crooning of his desire to fall in love with a very special woman. "Let's Fall In Love" gets a slower than normal tempo that really strikes me as very beautiful.
"Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" again features Nat at his very beat; and listen for "It's All In The Game." The melody of "It's All In The Game" features an unusual tempo but overall it remains a very beautiful number.
Nat's interpretation of "You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want To Do It)" would make Judy Garland proud; Nat delivers this without a superfluous note! "Stardust" is a number I really enjoy a lot; and the melancholy "Autumn Leaves" stuns me with its beauty; Nat performs "Autumn Leaves" with panache and sensitivity.
The CD closes with "More;" and Nat sings this so sweetly that it truly is a fitting closing for the album. Great musical arrangement with piano, percussion and strings!
The CD comes with great artwork. The remastering job from Capitol makes for crystal clear recordings and, as always, those lush Gordon Jenkins arrangements never fail to impress me.
Overall, a Nat King Cole fan would never want to miss owning this fine CD. People who enjoy classic pop vocals will also cherish this one for many years to come.
Thank you, Nat King Cole! We will never forget you!

"From the vaults of Capitol Records, never to be forgotten arrangements "Love Songs", another command performance release featuring the man himself Mr. Nathaniel Adams Cole...he had a tenderness in his voice, completely flawless...he could never deliver a bad tune...his style and signature of making a song his own has never been duplicated...within this album are wonderful timeless ballads complete with romantic lyrics...all remain classics from the greatest entertainer of our time!
This is probably one of the most romantic compilations ever assembled...among the highlights... "ANSWER ME, MY LOVE", "UNFORGETTABLE", "AUTUMN LEAVES", haunting counter melodies interwoven with Nelson Riddle's priceless orchestrations..."THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU", "THE MORE I SEE YOU", "STARDUST", "WHEN I FALL IN LOVE", Nat sings this from the heart and you're loving it with Gordon Jenkins gorgeous arrangements..."A NIGHTINGALE SANG IN BERKELY SQUARE", always a favorite of mine and Nat's delivery is true from beginning to end.
Hats off for this one of a kind compilation of past recordings that will keep you completely satisfied...some tracks are mono but the sound quality is quite amazing with it's 24-Bit Digitally Remastered technology...a release to savor for many years...if it's romantic ballads you're looking for this is a dream come true...more selections from the greatest entertainer of our time...and still more to come later this year with a DVD package.
Nat was awarded a posthumous plaque to the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, naming him one of the major early influences on rock 'n' roll...they'll never be another pass this way again...thank you Captiol for this release of Nat "King" Cole for the decades of music that followed...his interpretation of songs will remain with us forever...just the way we like 'em!
