"Since childhood, I have been a Big Nat King Cole fan. I was so influenced by my parents who loved him, too. On Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon, the house was filled with the sounds of Nat along with other favorites Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Ella, Sarah and Rosemary Clooney.
As a adult,I have often loved to kick back and listen to the song stylings of Nat who was often accompanied by Nelson Riddle and Gordon Jenkins who were were the greatest of orchrestra leaders. My husband was the one however who introduced me to the pairing of Nat King Cole and George Shearing. This recording is just the icing on the cake. I have a very strong appreciation for George Shearing now.
Anyone who purchases this CD is in for a musical treat. Enjoy."
Nat's voice is wonderful, but I would have liked...

"a couple more "up-tempo" tunes on this disc. Shearing is less in the jazz mode here, and more in his "easy listening" attitude. Each song on the CD, of course, is superbly rendered by these two class acts. I will play the Shearing releases with Peggy Lee, Nancy Wilson, Dakota Staton and Mel Torme more often, much as I do love Mr. Cole. All of them are at least four stars, and worth owning."
Cole and Shearing- a classic duo

"This album of the meeting of 2 giants in the music world is a classic. Shearing would try another meeting with a singer, John Pizzarelli but that cd while pleasant is not in the same mode as this album. The songs are a perfect fit for this duo, in fact some of them were repeated for this recent album with the singer/guitarist: "Azure-Te", "Let There Be Love", "September Song", etc. Throughout, Cole blends smoothly with Shearing's gossamer piano stylings with Ralph Carmichael's arrangements complimenting both superbly. This is nice easy listening album to listen late at night with your sweetheart or if alone, a glass of wine or cognac!!"
