Isabel Rey is universally recognized as one of Spain's best opera singers. A long-time collaborator with Jose Carreras, she is a favorite performer of conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt and a permanent member of the Zurich Opera House ensemble. Ms. Rey's brilliant voice has won her outstanding success in such roles as Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Marie (Daughter of the Regiment), Pamina (The Magic Flute), and Leila (The Pearl Fishers). Ichiro Suzuki is founder and artistic director of the Barcelona Guitar Festival. He has performed with major symphony orchestras and accompanied singers as famous as Victoria de los Angeles. Many contempoarary composers such as Toru Takemitus, Larry Coryell, Leo Brouwer and Takekuni Hirayoshi have composed pieces especially for Suzuki.
