Synopsis
Amazon.comOriginally recorded for legendary producer Bert Berns' Bang label, this collection documents the mid-'60s period when Neil Diamond was an emerging New York songwriter and apprentice pop star. Many of these hits have generated subsequent cover smashes--"I'm a Believer" (Monkees), "Kentucky Woman" (Deep Purple), "Red Red Wine" (UB40), "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" (Urge Overkill)--but the originals remain the greatest. Produced by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, sublime singles like "Solitary Man," "Cherry Cherry," and "Thank the Lord for the Night Time" kept Brill Building rock on the charts during the British Invasion. Diamond would go on to become a '70s megastar, but many believe he has never equaled these recordings. --Ben Edmonds

In STEREO Alfred Escoto | CoralSprings, FL. United States | 04/16/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Hi,I got this CD years ago. As far as I know these the only "stereo" version of Neil's early hits on CD.The CD does not even indicate this on the cover anywhere.
I still have Neil's Greatest Hits on LP. I have to say 'Cherry, Cherry","Solitary Man" and "Do It" are different stereo mixes, than on the LP. I'm not saying this is bad, just remixed. If you want these version in True Stereo this is the CD you want.I do not think you will find all of these songs in stereo on any other CD.
Hope this helps."
