"I came across Nelson Ned on a Juan Gabriel CD. While many people sing Gabriel's music and most of them ruin it, Ned's rendering of Gabriel's "El dia que me acaricies llorare" (also on this CD) caught my ear in a very big way. In this CD, the Brazilian singer offers a wonderful selection from the '70s and '80s, mostly gently delivered romantic numbers, and all in Spanish. He brings Mariachi in on "El preso no. 9," but the most upbeat number and the one sung with the most forceful conviction is "La Biblia." Except for Gabriel's "El dia que me acaricies llorare," Ned is the author of all songs, and they're all good."
