"The inscrutably-named New Fast Automatic Daffodils (aka New Fads or NFAD) are a band nearly no one in the US has ever heard of. Pity. This release - Love It All (1996) as well as Pigeonhole (1990), Bong (EP 1991), Body Exit Mind (1992) are all unique, timeless brit/alt/rock/pre-trance/rhythm-driven music.Love It All is perhaps their most accessible music. Strong songwriting and meaningful lyrics, there isn't a dud on the disc. Describing their sound is difficult, but think of a combination of early REM with a more jazz-feel beat with a little Stereolab groove mixed in. All New Fast Automatic Daffodils music is propelled by both a drummer and percussionist with a solid bass guitar often carrying melody, harmony and groove. The guitarist leans towards rhythm and riffs with some strong power chords thrown in. Their vocalist is unique both in vocal style and lyrics.New Fast Automatic Daffodils music wears as timelessly as King Crimson, REM, Djam Karet, and Kraftwerk. If my house was on fire, I'd seriously consider rescuing my discs of those bands but maybe not before my New Fads."

Going out at the top of their game

"I've just listened to this again for the first time in probably 8 years. I recently had a chat with Justin Crawford (formerly the bass player with the New FADS) at a club night where he was djing as one of the 'Unabombers', and i made a mental note to dig this out.



And what a fantastic album it is. I don't think I really appreciated it first time round but re-evaluating it shows what great songs these are, powerful, spiky, funky, angular and with great oblique lyrics that are intruguing and playful.



What a shame that this was the last thing they ever did - I guess they just didn't get the attention they deserved and probably didn't fit in with the Brit Pop template that all the post Oasis bands seemed to align to.



I strongly recommend this to anyone who likes manchester music at its best - this is up there with the Fall in my opinion."

"I watched the NEW FADS go from PIGEONHOLE to this lp. Actually, I couldn't find this album and due to lack of promotion, I didn't even know it existed until a couple of years after it was released. I loved PIGEONHOLE and especially the classic BODY EXIT MIND. This lp is NOT as noisy as BODY EXIT MIND and much tighter. Actually, it's the TIGHTEST lp they ever made. Not one song is longer than 5 minutes. The lead singer does less TALKING and more singing.. Everything comes together. The percussion is incredible, the drums are amazing, the guitar work is passionate and the basslines are deep with a thick groove. Lyrically and vocally, the performances are both filled with passion but also INTELLIGENCE! This is intelligent modern age indie pop... better than The Wendys. My favz on this lp are "Why Waste Your Love?", "Souvenir" (an amazing acoustic track), "Saxophone", "Kill My instincts", "These Foolish Things" and "Life Is An Accident". There is NOT one bad track on the album. If you liked the first 2 NEW FADS lps, you will LOVE this!!!!"
