CD ReviewsWhoa.... W. D. Scales | Reidsville, NC | 05/18/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "While not attaining the perfection of THUNDER AND CONSOLATION (what could?), there is nothing on this album that isn't delivered as if Justin Sullivan's life depended on it. The songs themselves are flawless; "Innocence" and "Vanity" alone are worth the price. The only flaw here is "Get Me Out", and that's only because the live version on ...& NOBODY ELSE is astounding to the point that the original presented here just doesn't compare. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful." Thought provoking true words spoken The Orange Duke | 10/10/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "An excellent follow-up album to Thunder And Consolation. This hard hitting album will provoke your inner feelings - good and bad. A real must if you want to indulge in your minds eye" Impure Delight The Orange Duke | Cupertino, Ca United States | 07/12/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "New Model Army is one of the finest bands to emerge from the English post punk scene. Similar in tone to melodic punk acts like he Men They Couldn't Hang, Green Day or late clash, the band mixed the lyrical sophistication of folk with the angry energy of punk. The band was also the inspiration for the like-minded Levelers. Known for their unrelenting sonic attack and their strident politics, NMA are also masters of the acoustic ballad. This album is one of the strongest, a superb follow up to the excellent THUNDER AND CONSOLATION. The album roars out of the gate with the excellent, angry `Get Me Out' and closes with the equally fine `Vanity'. Also notable are `Whirlwind', `Purity' and the thoughtful acoustic `Bury The Hatchet'. The album is an excellent addition to any collection, although if you're unfamiliar, any NMA album will delight."
