"The blend of Peter Rowan's sublime voice with the richness of the Nashville Bluegrass Band sound makes this a "must-have" for any country/bluegrass collection. "Meadowgreen" is my favorite cut on the album. The guitarwork and vocals weave together to transport you to a peaceful state of mind. This album has a wonderful mix of pure bluegrass, gentle country, gospel, and some humor. Alan O'Bryant is a true master of the banjo, exhibited on most tunes. Bill Monroe is paid a wonderful tribute with Rowan's version of "Cabin of Love" and with his own "High Lonesome Sound."I purchased the CD because the cassette tape I've played hundreds of times wore out! When and if the CD wears out, I'll get it again, because this is one of Rowan's best."
Awesome CD

"This CD is the epitome of "That High Lonesome Sound" (Track number one). Peter Rowan's voice is just awesome. The way his voice blends with Pat Enright and Alan O'Bryant gives me goose bumps.
While all the songs are great, my favorite is "Trail of Tears" which just gives my goose bumps goose bumps. The harmonies are unbelievable. And the song is just well written. No matter how many times I hear this song, I still marvel at its strength.
There are other great songs on the CD as well, such as "Like Moth to a Flame" and "Jesus Made the Wine from the Water" which goes along with the gospel tradition of THe Nashville Bluegrass Band.
I strongly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys awesome music, especially with strong vocals. But Stuart Duncan's sweet fiddling surely brings up the instrumental side.
Awesome, awesome CD."
One of his best.

"
Peter Rowan has explored many types of music but in my opinion he is at his best with straight bluegrass.
This is one of his top albums, the singing, the playing, the material is all top notch.
Some standouts for me are One Way and Trail of Tears."
