"Prior to getting this CD I had never heard anythng from Nic as a DJ , but I really liked some of his tracks under the moniker Buick Project, so I thought I'd give this a chance...
Disc 1 is atrocious - one of the worst discs I have heard in a long time. It is supposed to represent a "warm up" set, but as some of the other reviewers have pointed out, it is all REALLY BORING house. You know you have a really crappy disc when the intro is easily the high-point of the set. It goes nowhere, slow.
Disc 2 is a vast improvement on disc 1, but it is still stinks. It starts out with more of the same boring house, but picks up (just a little) starting with track 4. However, disc 2 doesn't really go anywhere either, with the only memorable track being "Mandarine Girl" by Booka Shade. Fortunately I bought it used from someone on Amazon for $5.
Disc 1: 0 stars
Disc 2: 1.5 stars"

"After picking this CD up yesterday and now giving it a few listens, I'm well impressed with the first mix from Nic Fanciulli. As far as the tempo and the tone of the CD, it reminds me a lot of the first Hernan Masters Series mix: CD 1 is purely classy house on the chill side, while CD 2 picks the tempo up with a straight dancefloor mix. I happen to be a big fan of more chilled house- Miguel Migs, Naked Music, Hotel Costes and the like, thus I found CD 1 to be really nice. The Phonique track and the Anil Chawla & Dale Anderson songs are actually two of the best house tracks I've heard all year! CD 2 starts off a bit iffy, but about half way through Nic hits his stride with some techy monsters. Some new, different sounds coming though on CD2 as well- not just straight prog, but definately not as traditional "tech house" (I.e. Mr. C, Terry Francis, etc.) as you might imagine, as it's more varied with a lot of electro flavors coming through. As a DJ, I just saw Nic in LA this week at an intimate Monday night club gig, and he completely wrecked it. Even the usually snobby LA crowd was going nuts. I recommend picking up this CD and checking out Nic's DJ sets."

"This man, Nic Faciulli, is a genious. For all of those that thought that this CD is boring, you all need to know more about electronic music. Nic Fanciulli, as you guys called it, is boring and slow. As a matter of fact, that is Nic's STYLE (it is mixture of minimal, UK progressive house, and acid house). If you didn't know, Nic started out in clubs working as an opener as early as 19 years old. I've seen Nic Fanciulli twice live, and not only is his music more danceable than most music, but is easy on the ears.
Nic Fanciulli receives absolutely no credit. When I saw him live with James Zabiela, he made James look like an ametuer. Nic Fanciulli is one of the biggest influence of the rising DJ's of today, and he deserves all the credit he can get. Buy this CD if you want to know what real electronic music is all about. As for the rest of you that are Tiesto/Paul Van Dyk mainstream lovers, stick to trance and hard techno and leave those that want to expand their horizons alone.
- i couldn't have put it better myself!!!!!
I love this CD. It is one of the best house CDs I have.
