"I saw Nick Charles perform during a recent trip to Australia, and knew upon hearing the opening notes of his first piece, that I wanted to own as much of his music as possible. As it happens, that first piece is the opening track on this album -- "Ship to Shore." Nick plays with the speed and imagination of Leo Kottke, and the sensitivity and melodic awareness of Alex de Grassi. That said, he has a style that's all his own. His cover of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood" is brilliant, as are the ten original compositions on this disk. He's already recognized as being one of the top acoustic guitarists in Australia, and it won't be long before his immense talent is recognized here in the States as well. Do yourself a favor: get this album."
