German band with a Swedish sound

"Despite hailing from Germany, Night in Gales plays melodic death metal in the same vein as Swedish trailblazers At the Gates. You won't find a lot of Dark Tranquillity-style keyboards on their 1998 album Thunderbeast, or Soilwork-style clean vocals either. What you will find is a fast and furious (yet still melodic) death metal assault that is sure to please fans of Hypocrisy and early In Flames. Like In Flames, Night in Gales would go on to incorporate some nu-metal elements to their later albums, but you don't have to worry about that with Thunderbeast. It's a great album for anyone who likes their death metal to be both vicious and melodic."

"I just bought this CD and it just keeps growing on me. They are a crazy german band that try to clone the swedish sound - but they're actually really good at it. Highly recomended band - check out the nailwork CD and you can download the new EP from their site for free."
