CD Reviews

ONE OF THE BEST OF 1988
A. DURAN | Monterrey, Mexico | 05/14/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Nigh Ranger has always been on of the favorites of the 80's, even with this CD that it's not the most successful...................well to tell you the truth, they don't have a lot of successful albums. This one is a gem, it shows you the mature, musically speaking, side of the band.

It's great on the diverse of the music on this one, we have a pop tune (very pop) "Don't Start Thinking", we have a few rockers "Man In Motion" "Love Shot Me Down" "Halfway To The Sun", of course, the classic ballads "I Did It For Love" and "Reason To Be" even an uptempo one "Kiss Me Where It Hurts" (Wow I really like this one). The rest are no fillers, are deep well played songs that you can enjoy without skipping tunes.

The great thing about this guys is that you can feel that they are enjoying playing and they know better that most musicians play their instruments.

I always felt that Alan Fritzgerald didn't fit on the band, he is not in the band on this one. After all, kind of you get use to him and when you don't see him, there is a missing piece.

One of the best of 1988. Don't have it? You really need it if you have any other album of the band.

Highlight: Man In Motion, Kiss Me Where It Hurts

Lowlight: The price. ($39.99???????)

Too bad you missed the cheaper, domestic release!
A. DURAN | 07/13/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Some may disagree, so if that colours my validity, too bad. This is DEFINITIVE AOR composition. With this release, Night Ranger have displayed the cream of their musical crop. There are hooks, harmonies, melodies, arrangements, and lyrics herein to compare favorably against any other AOR album that has come out. The only song to make it [relatively noticed] on the radio, 'I Did It for Love', wasn't written by the band, but was performed with the trademark Night Ranger ballad flavour. The rest of the disc offers more complete Night Ranger AOR than any of their other efforts.. Get your copy before it's completely out of print...[The preceeding announcement does not necessarily represent the opinion of Amazon.com or any of its affiliates.. *snicker*]"
A good solid rock album
A. DURAN | 10/22/1998
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Man In Motion is a good solid rock album.I don't know if it's the absense of keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald or some other factor, but this album seems to me, as Night Ranger albums go, to be missing something. Not that it's a bad album. Just a little less of that something that makes me like Night Ranger, rather than other equally talented bands. It is, however, in no way a bad album. If you're a fan of melodic hard rock, give Man In Motion a try. It's a good solid album that won't disappoint."
