"I seem to go through a lot of CDs, looking for that rare one that will become a real part of my life because of its insight, beauty, and emotionalism. Nina Gerber's "Not Before Noon" is such a CD. Nina's fabulous musicality with the guitar is wedded to vocals by none other than the likes of Lucy Kaplansky and Greg Brown, with tunes by people such as Greg, Bruce Cockburn, and Nanci Griffith. One highlight is the instrumental of "I Know You by Heart." Hearing the CD is rather like a dream folk concert. Don't miss it."

"If you're familiar with Nina's playing, then you'll know why you should own this CD. If you haven't yet heard her, then PLEASE make sure you do! I can't stress enough how Nina can make the listener feel such a profound tug at the soul. Her playing can stir up feelings of elation, excitement, joy, wonder at her ability to be technically brilliant and at the same time indescribably soulful, and then make you cry the kind of tears that only talent like hers can do. She speaks volumes through her music and it's on such a feeling level that you simply have to experience it for yourself. She has chosen wisely the other fine musicians for "NOT BEFORE NOON", making for a diverse and high quality experience that I can only HIGHLY recommend!"

"I was surprised to hear a slight criticism here of this CD, in terms of the vocalists and the quality not being up to Nina's "live" performances! I haven't heard her in a full, live performance, but I LOVE this CD....

And the cut here with Greg Brown ("Kate's Guitar") is by far the best rendition of this beautiful and haunting song, that I've ever heard....in fact I have heard Greg sing "Kate's Guitar", in a live performance, and this studio version is better!

All in all, this is a must have compilation, just a beautiful CD...."
