"Man, I remember this CD was blowin up back in the day, then he all of a sudden fell off the face of the earth. It's a shame, too, because this was an awesome disc. I spent many days my sophmore year of high school dipping out at lunch and driving and smoking with friends with this cd playing at full volume, so these tracks bring back some great memories for me.
With a pre-DMX rasp to his voice, clever rhymes, and great music to boot, this CD was great. Standout tracks include "Whutcha Want?", "Redrum", and my personal favorite, "Fo'eva Blunted" (which I certainly was in my younger days). If you can find a copy of this, buy it right now..."
90's hiphop ------> 3 & 3/4 stars

"typical of alot of the production heard around this era. I wouldn't rate this album as a 5 star classic but for anyone who actually grew up listing to hiphop at this time (like myself and not some suburben kid listens to it after the fact) its a "classic" in the nostalgic sence of the word. I remember my homie and I listening to this CD smoking weed in his car trying to get our voice as raspy as Nine's. It never really got there but we had fun wasting much smoke trying :)
"Whatcha Want" was the single of the album that most will remember. I still remember the cheesy video of Nine driving around Time Square with some girl driving. Pretty gay by todays' standards but the music was different enough with the swaying violins in contrast to Nine's gritty voice to carve his own niche. "Red Rum" is decent, very slow tempo'd. "Ova Confident" is real nice, with horns and a KRS-One sampled hook.
"Fo'va BLunted" is koo' nice head nod stuff. anyway decent album worth a few bucks for a few tracks."
Run for the hills, but there's no escape from NINE!!!

"Yeah, headz that know know that Nine is the man. Never before or ever since have I heard such ill rhymes as are on this disc. Cloud 9 is also great, but this will always be my fave. Nine got some limited air back in the day with "Whutcha Want?," but despite what he might tell you, he never really blew up. He's got a great, rough, pre-DMX style voice, smooth flow, and best and most importantly, he's clever. On the first cut he just opens up with a tirade about all the commercial rappers out there that just keep recycling the same old beats, same old rhymes, same old garbage. Not really new territory in the rap, excuse me, HIP-HOP game, but never before have I heard it as fierce and true as Nine lays it down. Peeps who know the difference between rap and hip-hop already know, Nine is the MAN!"

"First off if you wonder who would spent over twenty dollars on this LP, look no further I am one of them. I bought this CD used for 20 but every cent was well spent. Nine's debut LP is nothin less than mind-blowing! If you feel like me in that everything that dropped between 94-96 was the illest...this album imbodies all of that. One of my Favorites for stellar production & hardcore rhymes!!!"
