Their finest hour

"Although "Giant Normal Dwarf" was released at the end of the eighties it still sounds surprisingly fresh. If you have never heard this excellent band this is, IMHO, the place to start. "Giant Normal Dwarf" is intelligent pop music with dito lyrics. Their first records were released as New Wave hit Europe in the 70's, and to my ears sound a bit like what Elvis Costello was doing at the time. But Nits soon found their own style, and "Giant Normal Dwarf" is almost impossible to compare to anything else. If you'd like Squeeze with more keyboards, this might be what's missing in your collection. If you liked Talking Heads mostly because of the lyrics you should lend this an ear. If you like "Crowded House" for their ability to bring passion into the 3 minute-pop-song-formula, you're gonna dig this. Or maybe I'm wrong - go figure!"
