CD Reviews

Sweet rarities that any Nixons fan can't go without

"The Nixons are a great band, and my favorite. This is an ep of their rare songs, so don't expect a full album of new songs. The first song is a live version of "one by one" which originally appeared on their first ep "six" way back in 92. It just shows you the live raw energy that is a nixons live performance. The acoustic version of "sister" is simply amazing. It just amazes me everytime I hear it. You need to get this cd, even if just for that song. "heaven tonight" and "Rocketman" are covers of a Cheap trick and Elton John. Rocketman is by far the better of the two. I hated the elton john version, but love the nixons' stab at it. Heaven tonight just isn't a good song, so they couldn't do too much with it. not altogether bad though. The rest are live versions of songs of Foma and their self titled cd. A great acoustic in studio live version of "Sad sad me" and an electrifying live "happy song." The live version of "passion" is slower than on Foma, and get's kind of tedious. it seems kind of empty without the violins and strings too. not a bad song though. The best songs on here are Sister, rocketman, sad sad me, and happy song, and it's well worth the price just for these 4 songs, not that the other 3 are bad. you even get a hidden track of zac and john doing a radio promo. Interesting. It's definitely worth buying.............so buy it!"
"A Great EP from a Great Band"

"My name is The Allmighty Zero and I am from Oklahoma City. I have liked the Nixons since their first album was released. This EP is a pretty good compilation. It includes a cover of Elton John's, "Rocket Man", which was done quite well. This album also includes the much anticipated release of the acoustic "Sister". If you liked Foma and the self titled albums, this is a great buy!"
The greatest and most satisfying release of all times!

"My name is Davide, but people call me Da. I'm a 19 year old Italian guy who's a major fan of the Nixons. "Scrapbook" is by far the greatest release of all times! Acoustic versions of Sister and Passion really demonstrate and prove how skilled these guys are. This collection of rarities really makes the Nixons stand out as the truly successful band of this generation. My favourite song is "Sad sad me" which is a live version - it shows how good these guys are in concerts! Even though there are only 8 tracks it is still magnificent!!"
