Noel Pointer was definitely one of the best that the Jazz-Fusion Era offered. I'll never forget the night I met Mr. Pointer backstage at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA (circa 1982). He was playing there with Hiroshima and Phyllis Hyman. What a huge lose to the jazz community. My favorite song will always be "Night Song"." Check out Night Song J.
