CD Reviews

A great new band worth checking out
Andrew Estes | Maine | 07/12/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"With the current onslaught of manufactured nu-metal bands this past year, I didn't think anything could really catch my ear--until I bought 'Statement' on an impulse buy. Elias has a pretty unique voice and is pretty much what makes this CD so interesting. The music on here is just straight out heavy and you can literally feel it pulsate throguh your speakers. All of the members seem to work well together, and listening to this CD, there is no doubt that they have a lot of chemistry between them. The opening track "Mindtrip" will have you hooked, straight through the killer single, "What a Day" and onto more guitar heavy tracks such as Double "Stakked" and "Misled." But nothing on this CD is more interesting then when the band takes on some of hip-hops current stars on "Tribute." If you like this band, I highly suggest Puya. Also check out (hed)p.e. and Taproot if you enjoy this CD."
Not your average band

"This CD is definitely not what I expected. I assumed another nu-metal band was on the scene and that it would be more of the same type of thing that was becoming standard issue for the genre. Statement has great elements that combine many different feelings throughout the album. Songs like 'Victim' and 'What A Day' just get stuck in your head. The choruses are all very catchy without being annoying. I think this band has great potential, and will be completely overlooked by the mainstream market. Do yourself a favor, pick up their CD and go see them live before they get really big."
Sorta like Slipknot with more talent and a better vocalist!!

"Rapcore metal is not my style of music, unless it's Nonpoint! There is so much raw emotion and talent throughout the whole of the album that u can't help but love it. I'm sorry to any Slipknot fans reading this but I just don't get why people love them so. They are good but not as great as some may lead u to believe. It's offical though, Nonpoint has now made Rapcore not only listniable, but cool."
