"With so many female fronted metal bands out there these days, sometimes a really good one can get lost in the shuffle. Manzana hails from Tempere, Finland and have been playing together since 2003. The band consists of Piritta Lumous on vocals, Henka Wirsell on guitars, Klasu Wirzenius on bass and Heikki Malmberg on drums. They've acheived commercial success at home and frequently tour Europe, but the US market seems to have eluded them.
This album is filled with good songs, great vocals and the band rocks hard!. Their sound is somewhere between Doro's Love Me in Black and Unsun's End of Life. This album came out over a year before Unsun's debut, and yet seems to be relatively unknown here. I can only assume this hasn't received the proper promotion in the US. I assure you this is equal if not superior to the majority of the bands in this genere, and if female fronted melodic metal is your thing, you should certainly give this a chance, especially if you like the two albums I mentioned. Four 1/2 stars.
