"This album samples Nothing Painted Blue's oeuvre of singles, which run the gamut from lo-fi rockers like "Few" that sound like they were recorded through a dustbuster (this is a *good* thing) to masterpieces like "Swivelchair" or "Another Child Bride." Through the course of the album you can hear Franklin Bruno's lyrics grow more sophisticated (though the early "Go to Waste" is still terrific) and the entire band's playing get tighter and more varied. The live "Bonus Track" is a treat, finally revealing to the patient listener the kernel of the band's essence. One of my favorite bands of the past decade -- indie smartasses, indeed!P.S. It's "Missed the Point," not "Missed the Pint.""
