CD ReviewsAn excellent representation of the depth and breadth of NRBQ 10/01/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Ridin' in My Car" is a re-issue of NRBQ's 1976 album, "All Hopped Up". But it's much more than that; with additional songs from that session, as well as new artwork to go along with the new title. The title change was smart--named for the greatest pop tune that was never a hit, written by now departed guitar/songwriter/vocalist monster Al Anderson. This album covers all of the Q's bases. There's the infectious pop of "Ridin" and "It Feels So Good". Pure rock n roll is represented with "Start It Over" and "Chickenhearted", both previously unreleased and capable of setting your speakers on fire. And no one swings like NRBQ, and this was back in 1976. All these newly rich, famous, and posing swing/jump bands could learn a thing or two from listening to "Honey Hush" and "Queen Talk". The CD finishes with a version of the title track recorded by the Windsor CT. High School Marching Band, that will leave you joyous. What other band would have included this cut? No other band--because there's no one quite like NRBQ. Do yourself a favor and experience this CD--then go catch NRBQ--True American heroes for the last 30 years." Fun Party Music/Classic NRBQ Thomas Duane | Atlanta, GA | 12/01/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "As with all NRBQ albums, there are one or two throwaway songs. This one is no different. However, what is left is awesome." A butchered version of All Hopped Up Ralph Geiger | Washington, DC | 06/15/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "I wish they had done a straight reissue of All Hopped Up instead of adding inessential bonus tracks and leaving out Cecilia and Call Him Off Rogers, two of my favorite songs from the original. Skip this one and go for the Japanese import."
