Starts off promising, then just moves to the Out House

"When Nuclear Assault's 1991 effort "Out of Order" came out Nuclear Assault had a very impressive portfolio. This portfolio could have easily challenged the works of the Thrash metal four -Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer. They alone gave all four of these bands a run for their money. N.A. had no commercial material to make it big.
The first song "Sign in Blood" is good. Up through the fourth song "Preaching to the Deaf" (which features cuts from Anthrax's "I'm the Man"), "Out of Order" goes between the good and the mediocre. The sludgy "Resurrection" is where the album starts to falter. The song itself isn't bad, but the fact it features a serious use of the cliche Death Metal "cookie monster" vocals is troubling. Also, the song is super repetitve with some very simple riffs that start to wain on the listener by minute three let alone minute five. From then on, the songs become repetitive and very booring despite having some cool riffs here and there. The album ends with the total joke "Ballroom Blitz" (the song, unlike some Nuclear Assault songs, is not meant to be funny).
The thing about this album is that there isn't anything necessarily wrong with any individual's playing, Danny's bass sounds great, the guitar work of Connelly and Bramante is okay, and Evans drumming is okay...but the song writing is in the toilet.
...And with this album, Nuclear Assault would close out one of the most successful careers in Thrash Metal history. Lilker (who goes on to Brutal Truth) and Bramante would leave the group after this album, while Glenn Evans and John Connelly suprisingly went on.
If you're new to the band, get Game Over or Survive or Handle with Care. Don't start here.

"This album sounds cool. It's fast and has cool melody. The vocals are good. It's thrash you can really get into. Why does it get bad reviews? I dont know. Some people are Just stupid."
