"I have a tendency to qualify anything said about some of my favorite bands by adding that they don't necessarily sing that well, they don't necessarily play that well, and their lyrics can be trite ... but they remain among my favorites, because their music just inspires happiness. O.A.R. slips easily into this category. If you're looking to be technically awed or to find something stylistically innovative, you'll be disappointed. If you're just looking for something danceable and smileable and bearing a certain kind of joyfulness, this album can be a wonderful antidote to all of the "deep," dark, difficult options out there, even if it could have been nicely consolidated into one disc to avoid the tendency to start blurring together a bit. Some Of The Best Live/Jam Music Out There

"Any Time Now was the first album I heard by OAR. I listened to their studio albums and I realized that OAR, like Phish and Dispatch and other jam bands, sound best live on stage. In the studio, OAR sounds rather empty to me. On stage, they are awesome. One of the differences is they have added a very talented saxophonist to the band for Any Time Now who adds a wonderful touch to their songs.I went to an OAR concert and had the time of my life. They have so much energy and talent and the show was not for one second boring. I have seen John Mayer, Trey Anastasio, Guster, The Other Ones (The Greatful Dead), Dave Matthews Band, and Dispatch in concert and they were all as phenomonal as OAR was.If you like any of the bands I have listed, you will love OAR. If you love any of the bands I listed than you should stop whatever you're doing and go by Any Time Now this minute. One thing OAR needs to do now is write new music, go on tour, then release another live album like anytime now.Like the other bands I listed, OAR is wonderful, feel-good music. Many of their songs are the tellings of stories and the adventures they have had. Other topics of their music are partying, girls, drinking, and working. It seems like the last thing we need to listen to right now is Eminem singing about slitting his ex-wife's throat.Hot tracks include: Conquering Fools, Hey Girl, Night Shift, About An Hour Ago, and Black Rock.See OAR in concert...."

Almost like being there

"O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) is a name to get used to, for the future is bright for these early 20-somethings. O.A.R. is a group that just seems to get better every time I hear them. This double-cd features a live concert in Maryland and is recorded by the same engineer employed by Dave Matthews Band for live recordings. The similarities between these two don't end there, however. Anybody who enjoys the upbeat songs from DMB can surely hop on the bandwagon (pardon the pun) with ease. The band arrangements even coincide, with both employing a saxophone for that unique flavor. A highly regarded group. Recommended for fans of: Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Widespread Panic, Phish, Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Guster, Ben Harper, Bob Marley."

"Every CD that I have listened to has a certain passion, or a theme that comes from the writer's heart. Any Time Now by: O.A.R. follows the example of all the other CD's and expresses a sense of personal relationship through their beats, lyrics, and emotions. I would rate this CD high in my standards, considering I can listen to the whole soundtrack over and over without being bored or becoming tired of the songs. O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) uses their unique talents of creating a sound that never becomes old. They use the upbeat sound incorporated with a sense of mellowness to attract their fans to a mix of different genres. Through this CD, O.A.R. has about 30 plus songs that inherit their classic methods of writing music. A couple of the songs that I found were very popular and well known were, "Crazy Game Of Poker", "Black Rock", and sometimes even "Hey Girl". The one that has received the most response is "Crazy Game Of Poker" because of the recent interest in cards and how everyone seems to be listening to this particular song while they play poker. The listener will find a wide variety of plots and themes through this bands music. In addition to the wide variety, most songs on this album are very long in time length. Most of their songs range from 9 to 12 minutes in length, which is very long for musicians. With their classic method, O.A.R. has succeeded with this album and have created a quality CD that all ages can listen to. It would not surprise me if O.A.R. continued to excel in the music industry as long as they stay together and stick with what they are good with."
