"I had recently relocated to Puerto Rico, and one of the things I was told prior to moving is to "get used to Latin music" because I was going to be immersed in it whether I liked it or not. Sure enough, at the airport, in the hotel, at the office, at the Walgreens, in my realtor's car, at Denny's (for heaven's sake)--I was neck deep in Latin music. But it took a cab ride one day to really steer me to the Latin sound's direction when the song "Antes" came on. Although I couldn't understand all of the lyrics, the singer's passionate rendering of the song clearly showed me what it was all about. It was during a courageous trip to the Latin section of a music store when I learned that Obie Bermudez provided the voice and genius to this very addicting lamentation of lost love. With some hesitation, I bought the CD despite my not knowing anything about the artist or any of his other songs. I was not disappointed. After listening to ditties like "4:30 a.m.," "Me Canse De Ti," and "4 de Julio," not only was I hooked on Obie, but on Latin music as a whole. That purchase ushered others, sending me ears first into the fantastic, rewarding world of Latin music."

"It is rare that a 10-track album offers 10 great tracks. "Confesiones" does just that. From the motivating melody and dare-to-dream lyrics of "4:30 AM" to the heartbreaking lament of "Antes;" the bitter rant of "Me Canse de Ti" and the angry depression of "Otro Dia" Obie Bermudez manages to traverse the world of emotions in under an hour. Without being repetitious, Bermudez creates a coherent theme in his musical and lyrical story. Speaking Spanish is a plus, but it is by no means required. Bermudez's down-home, sincere voice clearly conveys the sentiment of every song."
