CD ReviewsWhy only 3 stars? Let me explain... Demented D | The Middle Of The Pit | 08/10/2001 (3 out of 5 stars) "So you are asking, "Why did he only give it three stars?" Well, allow me to explain. I am a HUGE Obituary fan, I have all their CD's and a few of their shirts. The only reason I bought this CD was because I wanted to hear the 2 extra songs, and believe me, they aren't worth it.OK, it's cool to want to do a Venom song, but why Buried Alive? This song is too weak for Obituary to cover it. When I first listened to it, I could not believe my ears. I was totally disapointed that they chose to cover this song out of all the great Venom songs. As for the other song, a Boiling Point Re-mix???? What in the hell were they thinking? There have been a couple of other death metal bands who have given in and done the remix thing, and FAILED miserably. This kind of thing just does not work for death metal in my opinion. So I feel like I totally wasted my money for something I had high hopes for. I guess I should have downloaded them first, eh? So if you are a big Obituary fan like me, you should already have all of their CD's and don't bother with this one. Later." Would like to own their complete discography... El Smoksta | ILLINOIS | 12/23/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "but, this will do for now. I used to own both Slowly We Rot and Cause Of Death on cassette tape, but they've been either lost or stolen (most likely stolen.) For now, I'll settle for this. I really would like the original cause of the gritty sound, but I doubt I'll ever come across it. This is more than satisfactory for any Obituary fan, as it is a greatest hits album, though as most know, Obituary wasn't a hot 100 band...so, yeah, this is a selection of what most consider to be their greatest songs, and I would basically have to agree." Best death metal geackz6490 | parachute, colorado United States | 06/13/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Obituary is probably the heaviest I listen to. i'm more into metallica and slipknot but I do enjoy some occasional death metal. These guys have some awesome riffs! Plus they're signed to Roadrunner Records. If you say that roadrunner is a horrible nu metal label, You're saying that Obituary, death, king diamond, Brujeria, Budgie, Carnivore, Earth Crisis and Deicide are horrible nu metal. Anyway, if you don't already have all the Obituary CDs this is worth picking up. But if you have their CDs, just download the bonus tracks."
