This is such a haunting cd. It's a shame they broke up after only 2 releases.

Very strong songwriting. Only detraction is that Mary Fahl's voice, beautiful as it is, is so distinctive that it overwhelms you after a while.

CULT CLASSIC
James L. Woolridge | Sunny Florida | 01/31/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"To say I recommend this CD is probably not enough. OCTOBER PROJECT is a short lived group that has a cult following, listen to the self titled album and fall in with the pack. Recording in the early 90's, a time of Duran Duran and Billie Joel and Whitney Houston, oh yes they had to compete, but they also fought for playing time on the radio with Tag Team, Paperboy, Haddaway, and the record label dumped October Project in two years, go figure. Mary Fahl's unforgettable voice is beyond almost anyones, so beautiful. Just find samples of BURY MY LOVELY or RETURN TO ME and listen, mesmerizing, brilliant. Join the cult following. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
Great band, what happened?

"Sanityclaus loved this band. Made for warm, candle-lit nights at the cottage. This and their second release, Falling Farther In, are great releases. Though not symphonic or classical like Renaissance, they were in the same league in terms of fine composition and passion. Many folk-rock bands are simply dull. October Project was special. Sanityclaus not sure what happened to band, but decided to not go down the chimney and deliver goodies to the record company the year they disbanded. I keep tabs on who's been naughty and nice. Anyway, the two CD's by this band make great stocking stuffers."
