Album Description"The tunes on OCMC's self-titled `07 EP (released on buzz-label Bladen County Records) are pretty darn rockin'--drawing on the late-'60s guitar meltdowns of White Albumera Beatles and even harder edges à la Thin Lizzy, not to mention Nuggets-esque psychedelia and garage-leaning grooves." -- Willamette Week The seeds of Oh Captain My Captain were planted in the summer of 1998 in Portland when high school students Jesse Bettis (vocals/guitar) and Josh Spacek (guitar) began practicing together. The group's current incarnation was assembled in 2007 when Spacek met drummer and Bladen County Records owner Joe Bowden, who brought along Alex Ellis from The Builders and the Butchers to take over bass duties. OCMC began tracking most of this album live at Miracle Lake Studios, where Skyler Norwood produced and engineered the recordings. Later, Annalisa Tornfelt, Nathan Langston, Ian Krist, and Mike Kitson provided strings, vibes, bells, and toy piano.
