"Herb Ohta is a highly respected Ukulele player, especially in Japan. Here he plays a beautiful collection of mostly traditional (hapa haole) Hawaiian tunes in his low-key strumming style, accompanied by a soft group of steel guitar, guitars, vibes, and bass. His sound is almost like very soft Italian mandolin. Very relaxing--unless you are a real Uke fanatic, you will likely consider this background music for a romantic candlelight dinner--a nice reminder of that elegant evening you spent at La Mer in the Halekulani in Waikiki. You can almost hear the surf gently brushing against the coral sand beach, palm trees rustling overhead in the tiki torchlight . . ."
