"Supurb remastering and excellent quality sound. The disc contains several great Hy Weiss recordings, many of which were never released. If you're looking for great cuts by the Solitaires-this is it, especially 'Lonesome Lover'. You can't go wrong by adding this one to your collection."

"Old Town Doo Wop, Vol. 5 offers up some very obscure Doo Wop tunes along with some that have never been released before.

Most of these recordings are from the archives of Hy Weiss' legendary Old Town label.

The recordings are the originals and the sound quality is just fine for the most part although a couple of tracks are a bit scratchy as they had to be recorded off acetates because the original masters are missing.

The accompanying booklet has short but satisfactory liner notes about the songs and groups.

All in all a great addition to the collection of any Doo Wop fan.
