Synopsis

Album Description
Early on the fourth album from Finland's Omnium Gatherum is already turning heads. Producer Dan Swano, who masterminded the album's recording proclaims, "I hate bands like Omnium Gatherum. They are so good it pisses me off!" Confidently blending melody and aggression this band has entertained an international audience that has grown with each new recording. Popular metal site Metal Eater calls the six-piece band from Karhula, "one of the top contenders in the extreme Metal scene."

CD Reviews

Absolutely Amazing..

"omnium gatherum have arrived with their new album. It is simply amazing. after their last 2 albums just simply not holding a flame to their amazing debut album *spirits and august light* I was getting anxious for OG to release another stellar album, and this new album does not only hold a torch to the debut it far surpasses it. The production is great and was mixed and mastered by the man "Dan Swano". The music on this album brings back allot of the melodys missing on their last album. It is actually one of the best mixes of melody and agression i have heard. The band is top of their game on this album even pushing their technical playing a bit further. The guitar playing is amazing the solos are great as usual! and the drum playig is awesome as always. keyboards stand out much more on this album. I also noticed a huge improvement on the vocals. his growls and clean vocals have bolth gotten much better. jukka has a very different unique voice. so what your getting here is melodic death metal with a bit of a proggy touch.

give it a listen true melodic death metal here. wont be a better melodic death metal album out any time soon. This is quality stuff.."

"I heard about Omnium Gatherum through the grapevine. They were described to me as Scandnavian metal done right, so naturally, I went out and grabbed this. The person who reccommended it was right on the money. This disc is awesome.

The guitar work, while not overly complex in sound, provides most of the melody. Keyboards add atmosphere. The vocals sound like melodic death metal to a T, nice and gutteral. Not that the singer doesn't have a nice, rangy, clean vocal section mixed in now and then. My first impression on more than one song was "very Dark Tranquillity-esqe".

If you, like me, are a fan of DT, pick this one up. You will not be disappointed. I'm very impressed with this one. The Red Shift gets 4.5 out of 5 stars."
UNBELIEVABLE!

"I just cant imagine why and how "Fiberking" below gave this masterpiece a one star rating - i almost feel sorry for him/her, but hey everyone to his own liking. This CD is a killer of melodic death metal sound. It defines its routes and makes it their own. They don't sound like any other. If you like Dark tranquility, eternal tears of sorrow or Mors principium est, and bands of the genre you'll love this one, actually i can say i love this CD on top of all the others before mentioned. Its just one of those cd's you can tell they put so much time and effort. Their previous releases i can say i didn't like as much, but this just defied all odds.

From the drums to guitars and the range of the singers voice matched all components of the songs to such work of gruesome and yet beautiful art.

I cant tell you how much this album means to me. I own hundreds of metal cds and this one is definitely a top 10. The new eternal tears of sorrow is a good one too if you liked this one.

I'll be blasting this cd as i ride through a long suburban road on a fresh and cloudy evening and marvel on its imagery and imagination in one big metal BLAST of perfection!!"
