Synopsis

Product Description
Oneida are critical darlings, have become ambassadors for Jagjaguwar, and are paying it forward with a label of their own (Brah Records). Consider them the bastard offspring of a Can/Suicide marriage; a band unafraid to pluck, tap, bend, synth, or crash their way to the various extremes of rock, pop, folk, and the avant-garde, and who brilliantly do so without alienating the respective fans of any of these genres. This is both a triple CD and a triple LP. LP contains a digital download coupon for free MP3s of all three platters.

CD Reviews

The Oneida record I've been wanting for so long
J. ausura | Boston | 08/10/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every one of their records have given me a little bit of something I liked, but this one finally puts them towards the top of my list of favorite bands. It starts out completely electronic dub and ends as a psych freak out worthy of any Acid Mothers/Can/Amon Duul fan's attention - over the course of 2 hours. Maybe the best part is that the progression feels totally natural. It makes a 3 disc set seem like something that any indie rock band in 2009 should be doing, although I can't name a single other band who could pull it off.

It's probably not the kind of record that fans of Oneida's more concise songwriting will fall in love with. Then again, it's hard to imagine an Oneida fan that can't stomach some ambitious scale. If you like any kind of psych or krautrock you'll probably think this is the second coming."
