CD ReviewsCool mixture of electronics, sweet vocals &muscular guitar 06/20/2002 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is the 2nd release by these Seattle artists. This time around, the whole band contributes giving this disc a much more "live" feel than the previous one (Mini-LP). Their sound is a bit hard to describe as it combines a few quirky elements. On one side, there is the shimmery electronica side showcased by songs like "Apple tree" and on the other or throatier guitar and full-band driven numbers like "Translation" and "Get You There." The lead vocals are evenly split between male and female... Harris has a unpretentious friendly casual style, with Fiia offering contrast with her smooth soaring tones. The album is a bit of mixed bag compared to the Mini-LP but with stand-out songs like "Apple Tree", "Stars", and "Get You There" on board, it's a good one. File Under: Morcheeba meets Cardigans meets Garbage (the band)." I LOVE it!!! katness | Seattle, WA United States | 01/30/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Ever since seeing them live some years ago, I've enjoyed every morsel this band has to offer. I love the trip-hop feel, the soothing melodies, and the all the vocals (there's a third singer as well;)! Both the cd's have impeccable sound and production quality-plus, they pull it off live beautifully.
I also enjoy how there's always some quirky little surprise tidbits (like the secret track on the end!), that makes this band stand apart from so many others.Any one who dislikes them that much isn't really listening very well...." |
