Product DescriptionThe theme of the folly, as a distorted mirror and distorting daily life, is very old. From the rough territory of the mystical, to the great literature, up to the world of figurative arts, madness faithfully accompanies every day life as a disturbing shadow. For its nature, this theme naturally lends to be treated also in a comic way. Right in this format it became very popular in the late eighteenth century. After all, the chosen attraction of the composer from Bergamo with the Neapolitan city is too well known. So much so that, in Naples the opera remained on the playbill for 15 years. Herein a great melodic inspiration, the sense of exquisite humour, which often borders with a great sense of the theatre; all elements which make of this opera a small pearl. Besides the unusual distribution of voices (two sopranos and five bassos) which creates interesting contrasts.
