Product Description James Parsons is one of the organ's most articulate advocates on today's musical scene. He is well known both for his international career as a concert organist and recording artist, and as founder of the Oundle International Festival, with its unique and influential summer school for young organists. Following his tenure of the Parry/Wood Organ Scholarship at Exeter College Oxford, where he was an organ pupil of Sir David Lumsden and Ralph Downes, Parsons achieved wide recognition as an organ recitalist. Regular engagements throughout the British Isles and annual tours in the US have received warm critical acclaim. Works by contemporary British composers feature frequently in his programs, while his interpretation of older repertoire has been enriched by periods of study with Jacque van Oortmerssen and Peter Hurford.
