"Classics Today gave this a 10/10 rating. Still, I've bought a few recordings with that rating that didn't send me. This recording is superb. Everything about it is gorgeous. I can't imagine listening to a more incredible vocal recording this year.



It is so seductive. The music was first heard in 1594. A contemporary of Palestrina, Lassos relies more on shorter motifs to great effect. The liner notes refer to a perfect balance between head and heart. It is a glorious sound... I will be listening to this recording many times over the coming months.
