Synopsis

Product Description
With their 2003 debut, ?Imaginadium?, a husky yet liltingly dynamic breed of men emerged from the forests of the Pacific Northwest to spellbind post-hardcore aficionados with a collage of AM radio style vocal melodies and mountainous guitar bombast? this group was aptly named Other Men My Age. From their bountiful Ohio roots, the members of Other Men My Age traversed the hillsides of America, trapping audiences in their sonic art-core snares in bands such as Armstrong?s Secret Nine and Harriet the Spy and ?New? Terror Class. It was only after the former members of these bands, Dave Neeson on guitar and Ken Myer on bass guitar pioneered west to Portland, Oregon to meet drummer Rick Coss and keyboardist Shaine Edwards, did the Other Men My Age succeed in grasping a grandiloquent sound nodding to their hardcore music past. Their result was a brusque sound, as soft as a Grizzly bear?s fur, but as temperamentally decimating as the Grizzly?s feral attack. Now with! the release of ?Every Buddy?, Other Men My Age return from their rustic setting with a markedly placid sound. Windswept are the heavy layers found on their virgin ?Imaginadium?. With ?Every Buddy?, Other Men My Age have created a new set of songs that at times recalls Fleetwood Mac or ?Leaves turn inside you?-era Unwound, yet also conjuring a sonic mystique and a seductive tone reminiscent of early prog rock. ?Every Buddy? shows the band maturing, focusing especially on melodic song writing and an organic tone, yet they still retain the fortitude of their previous musicality.

CD Reviews

My sister plays this record every time we have sex.

"I first became aware of Other Men My Age from their contribution to the Spiderman 2 soundtrack. Unfortunately, their track was cut from the final film due to legal issues. My sister has heard the song, though, and she told me that it's pretty good. Anyway, it took a while, but I finally tracked down a copy of this record on ebay and I love it. I just wish I'd seen it on Amazon before I spent like 30 bucks on it. I like to play this record on my ipod and when I'm listening to it on the bus I like to mouth the words. People stare because they're jealous."
Thought these guys were a bunch of gayfords...

"until I listened to it and realized it has balls (and no, not in their mouths)!!! This is some trippy music. My friend is a laserist at the local planetarium and I convinced him to skip 'dark side of the moon' tuesdays and do 'other men my age' that night. At first it was a bunch of homos showing up performing lewd acts, but eventually the word got out and now the place is packed with hipsters. Do yourself a favor and get this record!"
