"Once in a blue moon do you discover such great talent. You could say that Ottmar Liebert's work is under appreciated. You might go as far to say that it's overlooked. Yet, as a young kid I discovered his work. Picked up Nouveau Flamenco back in '99 and the rest is history. I have bought every single CD since then, and I have attended several of his concerts. Just when you can't imagine that his music could get better, he astonishes you again. Petals on the Path is another Gem in a world full of musical garbage. Such titles as "Blue by Blue", "Dancing Alone" "Future Green", "Cedar Smoke" and the edgy "Backwards Butterfly" stand out. Ottmar keeps reinventing himself. You might remember such masterpieces as "Barcelona Nights", Snake Charmer", "Surrender 2 Love", "Ocean Blvd./ Miami", "Up Close: Beginning", among many others. Yet this album is unique in it's own terms. At times it's very mellow and relaxing, ("Blue by Blue") other times it cranks it up a few notches, ("Dancing Alone", "Backwards Firefly") and other times it simply takes you on a journey ("Cedar Smoke"). If you appreciate quality music, pick this album up. You definitively will have a new appreciation for Ottmar's incredible work."
