Malhar gives an unmistakable feeling of the rain -- the clouds clashing with each other, the sound of the rain drops, the dullness and confinement created by the rain, the pangs of separation... Structurally, this Raga is very difficult to be played an an open string instrument like Santoor but the effects created by the maestro are just amazing. The tabla accompaniment by Anindo Chatterjee is masterful.For people who love nature and would like to drive around while it is raining, this music forms a great companion.HPR"
